LUNA SEA
FATE – one of the best jrock/visual kei openings in history, Fate has an epic chorus and kinda funky verses , with the bass set up really high.
TIME IS DEAD – one of the hit songs of the album presents a Luna Sea trademark , the bass is the main line in the harmony with Inoran and Sugizo(magically) complementing it , added with powerful and catchy verses and a wicked sugizo solo.
SANDY TIME – a good song, highlights are J’s bass and Ryuichi’s part, the intro and ending guitar riffs.
BRANCH ROAD – a great song, the same style as Sandy Time and other songs on this album, Sugizo has a great part on this one
SHADE - everybody seems to love this song from fans to other vk artists to luna sea itself, I like it very much but I think there are better ones in this album , highlights goes to the vocal and guitar lines.
Blue Transparency – Another hit , this song starts with rushing guitar, drums and bass and them one of the best Ryuichi’s performances on the album , the bridge and chorus are great too although the chorus seems a little less creative.
THE SLAIN – here they attempt to create some deep, introspective atmosphere that just don’t seem to work, even thou I love everything they do , I doubt anyone would choose this one if they have to choose one or even three songs from this album to listen.I would say that Ryuichi even sound like Kiyoharu in the beginning , even though Kuroyume wouldn’t be around before 1991.
CHESS – This isn’t one of my favorites either, even thou better than The Slain, the tense guitar and drums and the epic vocals are really cool
MOON – a classic, don’t know if I prefer this or the more extended version from Image, here the guitar duo outdone themselves, there isn’t a single note not remarkable on this one .
PRECIOUS…- My favorite on this album, and one of their most popular songs, a catchy riff and chorus, the usual magic between Sugizo and Inoran.
